How Avunu LLC collects, uses, and protects information when you visit avunu.net or contact us.

About this policy

Effective date: TODO: set on publication.

avunu.net (the "Site") is owned and operated by Avunu LLC ("Avunu", "we", "us"). This privacy policy explains what information we collect when you use the Site, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. It applies alongside our terms of use.

The Site is a static website. It has no user accounts, no shop, and no checkout. Our client portal at erp.avunu.net is a separate system for existing clients; where this policy mentions it, it says so.

By using the Site, you agree to the collection and use of information as described here. We only collect what we need for the purposes below, and we won't collect more without telling you first.

Information we collect

Information collected automatically

The Site is delivered through Cloudflare Pages. Like any web server, Cloudflare processes technical information about each request to deliver and protect the Site, including your IP address, browser and device type, the page requested, and the referring page.

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand how the Site is used. It is privacy-first: it doesn't use cookies, doesn't fingerprint your device, and doesn't track you across sites. It gives us aggregate statistics such as page views, referring sites, country, and device type. We can't use it to identify you.

Information you give us

When you use our contact form or project questionnaire, we collect what you choose to send us. That can include:

  • Your name, email address, and phone number;

  • Your company name and role;

  • Information about your business, your current systems, and your project; and

  • How you heard about us.

To keep out spam, our forms use Cloudflare Turnstile. Turnstile looks at signals from your browser to tell people from bots. It doesn't use cookies to track you or show you ads.

Information from clients

If you become a client, we'll collect information needed to do business with you, such as billing contacts and payment details, in our client portal and accounting system. Payments are handled by our payment processor; we don't store full card numbers. TODO: name the current payment processor(s) and confirm what is stored.

How we use information

We use the information we collect only for the purposes described here or on the page where we collect it:

  • Analytics data to understand which pages are useful and to improve the Site.

  • Form submissions to reply to you, understand your project, prepare estimates and proposals, and keep a record of our conversations.

  • Client information to deliver services, communicate about projects, send invoices, and receive payment.

Form submissions create a record (a "lead") in Avunu's own ERP system, the same system we use to manage client projects. We don't add you to a marketing list unless you ask us to.

Who we share information with

Our team

Team members and contractors who need your information to respond to you or deliver services can access it, and only for those purposes.

Service providers

We use a small number of providers to run the Site and our business:

  • Cloudflare for website hosting, analytics, spam protection, and network security. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.

  • Our ERP hosting for storing inquiries and client records. TODO: confirm where erp.avunu.net is hosted (self-hosted, provider name, and country).

  • Payment processors for client payments. TODO: name them.

Providers can only use your information as needed to provide their service to us.

Other disclosures

We don't sell your information. We won't share it with anyone else except:

  • When the law requires it;

  • When it's required for a legal proceeding;

  • To prove or protect our legal rights; or

  • To a buyer or potential buyer of the company, if we ever sell the business.

If you follow a link from the Site to another website, that site's privacy practices apply, not ours.

Cookies and local storage

The Site doesn't set cookies, and it doesn't use advertising or cross-site tracking of any kind.

If you change the Site's display theme (light or dark), your browser remembers the choice in its local storage on your device. That setting never leaves your browser, and you can clear it at any time.

The client portal at erp.avunu.net uses essential cookies to keep you signed in. They aren't used for tracking.

How long we keep information

  • Cloudflare's request and analytics data is kept according to Cloudflare's own retention policies, in aggregate form for analytics.

  • Inquiries are kept as long as needed to respond and, if we work together, for the length of our business relationship. TODO: set a retention period for inquiries that don't become projects.

  • Client and billing records are kept as long as required for accounting, tax, and legal purposes.

You can ask us to delete your information at any time (see Your rights).

How we protect information

The Site is served only over encrypted HTTPS connections. Form submissions travel encrypted to our ERP, which runs on servers we configure, update, and monitor for security and data integrity.

We take reasonable precautions to protect your information, but no system on the internet is perfectly secure. We can't guarantee the security of information beyond what is reasonably practical.

International data transfers

Cloudflare operates a global network, so requests to the Site may be processed in data centers outside your country. Our business systems are operated from the United States. TODO: confirm server locations. When information is transferred, we protect it as described in this policy and follow applicable legal requirements.

Children

The Site is intended for people 13 years of age and older. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have, we'll delete it as soon as possible. A parent or guardian who believes their child has sent us information can contact us using the details below.

Your rights

You can ask us:

  • Whether we have information about you, how we've used it, and who we've shared it with;

  • To correct or update your information; or

  • To delete your information.

To make a request, contact us using the details below. We'll respond as soon as we reasonably can and may need to verify your identity first.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy to stay compliant with the law or to reflect changes in how we collect information. When we do, we'll update the effective date at the top of this page. If a change is significant, we may also notify clients by email. We recommend checking this page from time to time.
