New: Odoo implementation

Odoo, built around the way your business actually runs

Odoo puts accounting, sales, inventory, purchasing, repairs, scheduling, and a customer portal in one system. Avunu implements Odoo Community with the open modules of the Odoo Community Association (OCA) and tailors it to your workflow. You get one connected system that your team will enjoy using, with no Enterprise license fees and nothing tying you to us.

Repairs and fleet

Inspections, estimates, vehicle history, and scheduling across several technicians.

Shop-floor tablets

Timers, parts scanning with the camera, and inspections where the work happens.

Accounting that adds up

A US GAAP chart of accounts, receivables and payables, and bank reconciliation.

A clean move off QuickBooks

Rehearsed on a test copy first, so go-live day holds no surprises.

Open-source Odoo, none of the lock-in

Most people meet Odoo through its Enterprise edition: a polished product, priced per user, with some features reserved for subscribers. That's a fair business model, but it isn't the only way to run Odoo.

Odoo Community is open source. Around it, the OCA, a nonprofit community of Odoo companies and developers, maintains a large library of open modules for financial reporting, repairs, fleet, purchasing, field service, shop-floor tools, and much more. Avunu builds on Odoo 18 Community (through OCB, the OCA's maintained Community branch) plus the OCA modules your business actually needs. With about 60 OCA repositories in our toolkit, most requirements start from proven, community-reviewed code instead of a blank page.

Here's what that means for you:

No Enterprise license fees

Add a technician, a counter clerk, or a seasonal hire without adding a subscription line.

No lock-in

Your code, your data, your server. Any qualified Odoo developer can support what we build, and you can bring it in-house whenever you like.

Proven building blocks

OCA modules are reviewed and used by businesses around the world, so we write custom code only where your business is genuinely different.

Room to grow

The OCA ports its modules to each new Odoo release, so your system has a path forward instead of a dead end.

From repair order to paid invoice

Our flagship Odoo build is a complete shop-management system for auto and heavy-truck repair. It replaces the familiar mix of paper inspection sheets, a separate shop app, parts spreadsheets, and QuickBooks with one flow that your service writers, technicians, parts counter, and customers all share.

Inspect with photos

Technicians grade every item by severity, record measurements, and take photos right in the bay.

Approve from a phone

Customers add the recommended jobs they want from the portal, then approve the estimate with an e-signature.

Parts and invoice follow

Approved work reserves parts, orders what's missing, and lands on the invoice.

One flow, eight steps
From write-up to payment

Write up the repair order

Enter a VIN and the vehicle's details decode automatically. The service writer sees the full vehicle history and, for fleet customers, every unit they run with you.

Inspect the vehicle digitally

Technicians work through a digital vehicle inspection on a shop iPad. Every item gets a severity grade, measurements like brake lining and tread depth, and photos taken right there in the bay.

Show the customer what you found

The inspection becomes a clean, customer-facing report on their own portal: photos, color-coded severity, and plain-language notes. Customers see what the technician saw, which makes the next conversation much easier.

Estimate with recommended work

The estimate lists the work that has to happen and, separately, the jobs your technicians recommend. Customers can add recommended jobs themselves from the portal.

Approve with an e-signature

Customers approve the estimate online with a signature. No phone tag, no lost paperwork, and a clear record of what was authorized and when.

Get the parts moving

Approved work reserves the parts you have on the shelf. Anything missing turns into a request for quotation automatically, with a parts lookup integration so your parts counter isn't retyping numbers.

Schedule and track the work

Jobs go onto a schedule that handles several technicians per repair order. Technicians start and stop timers from the shop-floor iPad app, scan parts and tags with the camera, and sign in with their Google or Apple account.

Invoice and get paid

Labor and parts flow straight onto the invoice, the customer pays, and the books are already up to date. Nobody re-enters a thing.

The system is built and tested, and it's heading into deployment at the shop.

Not a repair shop? Odoo covers a lot of ground

The repair flow shows what's possible when Odoo is tailored to a trade. The same approach works for distributors, service companies, manufacturers, and retailers. Depending on what you need, your system can include:

Accounting and invoicing

A US GAAP chart of accounts, receivables and payables, bank reconciliation, and the OCA's financial reports.

Sales, CRM, and quoting

Leads, opportunities, quotes, and orders in one place, with online quote approval through the customer portal.

Inventory, purchasing, and parts

Stock across locations, reservations, reordering rules, and purchase requests generated from real demand.

Field service, fleet, and shop floor

Work scheduled to people and places, assets tracked over their life, and simple touch-friendly screens for the shop floor.

Projects and timesheets

Project tasks and a running timer in the menu bar, so time gets logged while the work happens instead of on Friday afternoon.

AI where it helps

Cloudflare Workers AI connected as an AI provider inside Odoo, for drafting, summarizing, and extracting information without sending your data to yet another vendor.

Email, text messages, and documents

Email that sends and receives through Cloudflare with no mail server to manage, two-way SMS and MMS inside Odoo's Discuss, and one inbox for the bills and documents you receive by email or on paper. Documents are read, previewed, and turned into records, including any vendors or products that don't exist yet.

A clean break from QuickBooks

Many of the businesses we talk to are running on QuickBooks plus a handful of other tools. Moving to Odoo is a chance to start clean, not to drag years of workarounds along.

  • Chart of accounts. We map your accounts onto a US GAAP structure and clean up what's grown messy over time.

  • Customers, vendors, and products. We bring over your partners and your product or parts catalog, deduplicated and ready to use.

  • Open balances. Open receivables and payables come across item by item, so you can keep collecting and paying without missing a beat.

  • Opening balances. We set opening balances as of your cutover date and reconcile them against QuickBooks with your bookkeeper.

  • Rehearsal first. We run the migration on a test copy before the real cutover, so go-live day holds no surprises.

Built to be maintained,
not just launched

An ERP lives for years. We build yours so it stays understandable, testable, and easy to change.

Standard first, custom second

We configure Odoo and the OCA modules before writing anything new. When your workflow needs custom code, we write small, focused modules that connect the pieces.

Automated tests

Our custom modules ship with automated tests, so upgrades and changes don't quietly break the workflows you depend on.

Declarative builds with odoo-nix

We manage every Odoo project with odoo-nix, our open-source Nix tooling. It picks OCA modules and resolves the repositories they depend on, generates the Odoo configuration, and produces the same build for development, a NixOS server, or a container image. Every module and version is pinned, so what we test is exactly what you run.

Hosting your way

We can run your Odoo on our managed platform, on your own hardware, or with another host you trust.

AI-augmented, human-reviewed

We use AI-assisted development to deliver a tailored fit at a small-business budget, and every change is still reviewed and tested by people who know your system.

Built on building blocks we publish in the open

We publish the tools we build so other Odoo users can benefit and so you never depend on code only we can see. Our Odoo modules are released under the AGPL-3 license.

How an Odoo engagement works

We keep the first commitment small and clear, then grow the system with you.

Systems assessment

We map your current tools and workflows and confirm Odoo is the right fit. See consulting.

Phase one, fixed scope

We agree on a defined first phase, usually the core workflow, accounting, and your migration, with a clear budget and go-live target.

Ongoing improvements, hourly

After go-live, we prioritize new requests together and work through them in order of what matters most.

At every stage you get best- and worst-case estimates up front, a live view of hours against budget in our client project portal, and early warning well before a budget runs out.Open the client portal ↗

Questions about Odoo

Do I need an Odoo Enterprise subscription?

No. We build on Odoo Community and OCA modules, which cover what most growing businesses need. If a specific Enterprise feature really matters to you, we'll say so plainly and help you weigh the options.

We already run Odoo. Can you help?

Yes. We can take over support of an existing Community system, finish a stalled implementation, or review an Enterprise setup to see whether Community and OCA would serve you as well. We'll look at which features you rely on before recommending anything.

Can we use Odoo's own hosting?

Odoo's own hosted services are designed around Enterprise subscriptions, and the simplest tier doesn't allow custom modules. We host Odoo Community on our managed platform, or set it up on your own servers or another provider.

Which version of Odoo do you use?

Odoo 18 Community, currently the best-supported release across OCA modules. We plan upgrades to newer releases as the OCA modules you depend on are ported.

How long does an implementation take?

It depends on scope. After the systems assessment, you'll get a phase-one plan with a timeline and best- and worst-case estimates before any build work starts.

Will we be tied to Avunu?

No. Everything we build is yours once it's paid for. The code is open source, your data lives in a standard PostgreSQL database, and any qualified Odoo developer can pick up where we left off.
