Customers reply by email, by text, and sometimes both. Messaging brings those conversations into one place in Frappe or ERPNext. It replaces the Communication list with a chat-style inbox, adds two-way SMS through Twilio, and gives you tools to text or email groups of contacts while respecting their consent. It's for teams that talk to customers all day and don't want to switch between a phone, an inbox, and the ERP.

Features

  • Unified inbox. A real-time chat view for all Communications, email and SMS, with search, filters, attachments, and dark mode.

  • Twilio SMS. Inbound texts become Communications through a signature-validated webhook, and replies go out through SMS Settings.

  • Group text messages. Broadcast to Messaging Groups, exclude groups, or schedule a send. Only contacts with SMS consent and a validated mobile number receive it.

  • Clean phone data. Numbers are normalized to E.164 and deduplicated, with optional Twilio carrier and line-type validation.

  • Messaging Groups that link to contacts automatically and can sync to an Email Group.

  • Newsletter merge tags such as first name, company, and salutation, resolved from each recipient's contact.

Getting started

Install the app with bench, build its frontend, then add your Twilio credentials in Messaging Settings. The README covers installation, configuration, and the webhook endpoint.
